At PureModern, we are fortunate to work with so many incredible companies. We love that we get to be a part of seeing a designer’s vision come to life. One incredible project that we saw come to life was the Glass & Vine restaurant project by Groves Bay Hospitality Group. Glass & Vine is an amazing Euro-style restaurant located in Coconut Groves, FL on the Biscayne Bay. The restaurant used our rectangular planters to create a garden oasis where patrons could dine alfresco and escape the busyness of life. Photography by VHT

As Groves Bay Hospitality Group was transforming the space for Glass & Vine, they reached out to PureModern to supply the modern planters needed for the restaurant. They achieved the design challenge of separating open spaces by using planters to separate the restaurant patio space from the walkway just outside of the restaurant. When challenged with an open space that you desire to make more intimate, using planters to provide both much-needed greenery and as a partition to define spaces as Groves Bay did, is often the perfect solution.
In order to realize their vision, Groves Bay ordered 10 Modern Elite Aluminum Rectangular Planters in matte black (size XL which is 46”l x 10”w x 24”h). Modern Elite Aluminum Planters are a great choice for outdoor projects that are located by the sea or a lake because our aluminum planters are made with marine-grade aluminum. Marine-grade aluminum is specially alloyed for strength and resistance to corrosion, ensuring that the planters will last for years to come despite exposure to the elements. Modern Elite Aluminum Planters are also colored using a powder-coating process, which gives the planters a long-lasting finish.
Groves Bay choose to arrange the planters in two semi-circles to partition the patio instead of placing the planters in a straight line (a choice that we love). While straight lines certainly have their place in design, Groves Bay used the planters to mimic the lines used both in the pavers on the patio and the walkway and also the lines on the deck above the patio. Using curves and symmetry creates a balanced and overall comforting look to the design.
By using several extra-large Modern Elite Aluminum Planters to mimic the existing lines of the restaurant's surroundings the designers at Groves Bay Hospitality Group created a warm and cozy outdoor environment for the patrons of Glass & Vine to enjoy their incredible food and drinks for years to come.
