To determine what custom planter fits your needs, begin by gathering key details. To get your project underway, please follow these seven simple steps.

Step 1: Determine the Application of Your Custom Planters

The first thing we need to know to build the right custom planter for your needs is where and how it will be used.

Our modern custom planters are suitable for both indoor and outdoor spaces. They can be used for things like verandas, entryways, and patios, as well as to separate dining spaces in restaurants, create privacy on a hotel rooftop deck, create pathways to large dinner buffets, or bring a touch of color to a pool deck.

It’s also important to consider whether you have sufficient natural light where you’re planning to place your planter, either from a nearby window or directly from the sky above.

Step 2: Pick Your Custom Planter Shape

Next, we need to confirm the shape that will best suit your needs. For example, you’ll need to consider whether you require a planter with a small footprint to maximize the surrounding space, or if you have a larger footprint to work with that requires a l arge custom planter .

Step 4: Choose Your Custom Planter Color

The planter material you choose will dictate the options of color available to you. At PureModern, we spray most fiberglass planters with automotive-grade paint. If you provide any RAL, Sherwin Williams, Benjamin Moore, or your favorite paint company color code, we will match it. For powder-coated aluminum, we prefer TIGER Drylac® Series 38 powder coating. Color options will depend on your application, whether interior or exterior. We are happy to send you a brochure showing the color options when requested.

Step 5: Specify Any Irrigation or Installation Needs

In addition to fabricating custom planters, we also specialize in irrigation equipment to accommodate your planter. For instance, we offer Ollie Plant Sippers, which capitalizes on a plant’s naturally capillary action of attaining water and nutrients through its roots.

This, in turn, means your plants will require 80% less water and that the holding tank will only need to be filled every six weeks. This is highly beneficial in conserving resources and saving you time and money.

When you order free samples, you can see the color and texture first-hand. Place the samples in the right lighting to determine, with confidence, the correct option for you and your client.
Keep in mind that planter color samples are complimentary. Fire pit swatches require a down payment that is credited upon return. Only Modern Elite Planter and concrete fire pit color samples come in the same product color and texture. PurePots color samples come on a heavy plastic that emulates the texture of Fiberglass Planters.
The material you choose dictates the available color options.
At PureModern, most fiberglass planters are sprayed with automotive-grade paint, specifically BASF, known for its highly resistant and durable finish. Any RAL, Sherwin Williams, Benjamin Moore, or your preferred paint company color code can be matched.
For powder-coated aluminum, TIGER Drylac® Series 38 powder coating is preferred. Color options depend on whether the application is interior or exterior. TIGER Drylac® is VOC-free and designed for industrial uses such as military equipment and communication towers. It is proven to be weather and UV-ray-resistant, with the manufacturer stating, “Based on 5-year Florida exposure, TIGER Drylac® Series 38 exhibits 5.0 (Hunter) color change and > 30% gloss retention.” Additionally, TIGER Drylac® Series 38 complies with the American Architectural Manufacturing Association’s specification AAMA 2604.

We strive to meet your requested date. Please let us know when you need the planters delivered, and we can work backward from your date. Lead times vary from 1 week to 4 months depending on the planter material, availability, and whether or not it is a custom project. Consider the general timelines by brand below.
