One of the earliest "Pop Art" furniture designs, the Marshmallow Sofa was created in 1956 by George Nelson, head of the Design Department for many years at the Herman Miller company.
Inspired by the coconut shell, the Coconut Chair was designed by George Nelson in 1955 and consists of fiberglass shell reinforced with upholstery. Nelson's shapes were strongly stimulated by the art of the 1950's and promoted a new, very casual form of sitting.
Created by Eero Saarinen in 1956 for the Knoll company, the Tulip Chair features the smooth modern lines and considered a classic of industrial design.
